September 5, 2019 By Chris B.
iCIMS, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based talent acquisition solutions, will host its Halloween Hackathon event on October 27, 2019 from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. At the event, college and high school students, along with local technology professionals, will compete in collaborative computer-programming and problem-solving challenges for prizes, as well as engage in educational workshops and hear from local technology leaders.
Whether a beginner looking to explore the world of coding or an expert who thrives on cracking complex computer issues, the iCIMS Hackathon is expected to draw hundreds of attendees who are looking to learn and network with like-minded individuals in a setting that embraces innovation and camaraderie. Attendees can join workshops such as “Intro to App Building” or “How to Hack a Ted Talk,” try their luck at solving real-world problems through coding and connect with others in the STEM community. Competitive fun is also encouraged with a variety of challenges to win prizes and a Halloween costume contest.
“We are excited to host the next crop of leaders and innovators during a day that’s made to celebrate technology,” said Al Smith, chief technology officer at iCIMS. “Students and tech enthusiasts will have the chance to experience one of the most iconic technology hubs in the country where some of the biggest technological revolutions occurred. We’re excited to have those passionate about tech come together at our headquarters in Bell Works.”
The event will take place at the iCIMS headquarters inside Bell Works atrium located at 101 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, NJ — a two-million-square-foot building formerly known as Bell Labs, the site of breakthrough innovations in cellular phones, fiber optics and telecommunication satellites.
iCIMS is hosting the Halloween Hackathon in partnership with Major League Hacking (MLH), and sponsors include Amazon Web Services, New Relic, and TEDxAsburyPark.
