Big Island Ghost Tours offers stories and legends of Hawaii's most supernatural sites for visitors to experience and come to their own conclusions. From places where human sacrifice was performed for ancient gods & goddesses, to the more modern sites including resorts and museums built atop ancient burial grounds, many of the places we visit on our tours are history by day and haunted by night!

Our ghost tours are fun for the entire family and offered year round. Our most popluar walking tour is the Kona Haunted Hele, followed by our Hilo After Dark ghost tour. The daytime Kona History Walk gives you the chance to hear about Kona's history without a paranormal twist, and our healing Island Vortex Tour based on the book Hawaii Vortex Field Guide gives you the chance to see and experience more of the Big Island's energy in two days than most people do in two years. The Burials & Battlegrounds tour is a new driving tour that visits ancient sites of battle and burials along the South Kona coast. All tours are led by historians and researchers familiar with the legends & lore of Hawaii.

Kona Haunted Hele:
Explore Kona's haunted history & mystery! Step into the spooky past and supernatural happenings of Kailua-Kona on this evening tour. After the sun dips down, follow an expert local guide as you explore eerie tales of hauntings and real-life historical events that are sure to send chills down your spine.

Hilo After Dark:
2hr Guided Nightmarcher Tour on Banyan Drive. Hilo days might be warm, but when the sun goes down and there's a chill in the air, it's easy to imagine eerie happenings among the quiet beaches and rustling palms. Investigate sites of paranormal occurrences with a local guide, scoping out haunted hotels and historic sites as you hear tales of spooky sightings.

Some locations may have last minute updates due to changing circumstances. Please visit the attraction's website and/or social media before going to double-check that they are open.

  • We were lucky enough to get the owner/ author Zach Royer for our tour-- so good we booked a companion tour the next night to learn more! No tricks or slight of hand here, just history (of the more macabre variety at times) and a deep love of this island and her culture and people. We had some very interesting phenomena both nights, made more so by the tech the tour company uses to illustrate how paranormal investigators do their thing.Ghosts are not on the payroll, people-- please bring your curiosity, sense of wonder, open mind and respect for all-- and be ready to have a great time. Truly anything might happen! You'll get out of this unique experience what you bring to it. If you're one of those compulsive "debunkers", skip it. You're a bummer who is ruining it for the rest of us, we're just too polite to say anything. No, really, dude. Go over to Gertrude's and hang out, we'll text you when we're done actually having fun. *wink*
